Review on 🎙️ Fostex USA High-Quality XLR Cable for Stage or Studio (AMS-ET-RPXLR) by Lori Allen

I had ATH-m50x, ATH-m40x and HE350 on Schiit Stack. I bought and returned HE560s because they weren't worth the price and the sound signature was too thin. I've never heard any other pair of Fostex headphones, so I can't make a comparison to the T50RP with or without the mods. All I can say is that these headphones are the best I've heard, with the possible exception of the HE1000, which I showed off at a trade show. They are so damn thick, rich and precise! The bass is really present, smooth and detailed. The vocals are not as distinctive as with the m40x, but are very full and pleasant to listen to. The soundstage isn't very wide, but the positioning is very accurate. The games are really exciting. They are also very convenient out of the box. I tend to replace my Audio Technica gear with a Brainwavz hybrid or velor just to make it more comfortable. But the leather pads are very good and I didn't feel like experimenting. The build quality is nice and feels solid. The 3.5 mm jack plug is very practical. The supplied cable is high quality and braided. If I had a balanced system I would choose a 4 pin balanced cable. I've heard that something in the Schiit Magni range is the lowest gear you should use because they are pretty power hungry. Rumor has it that if you try to run it with an iPhone or even Dragon Fly Red, for example, you won't get the full audio signature even when running at high volume. These are not portable headphones. If you're in the price range and have an amp that can power them, no problem. I developed a constant creaking sound every time I move my head or jaw. This is a pretty serious drawback for headphones in this price range, and it completely spoils the experience of using them.
