Bought this along with 3 other DisplayPort and USB extenders (and a DisplayPort connector) to try and extend the display for my Valve Index. My tests were NOT exhaustive but all 4 options worked. In addition to reviewing this product, I also describe the other options I tested, including the price. I hope this helps anyone looking to expand their VR system. In all cases there was no noticeable loss of picture or audio fidelity or image loss. The length of the cable doesn't add latency/latency so don't worry. But ONLY the active DP port successfully transmitted the signal to the headset / no snow. THIS PRODUCT: USB (5m) ($15.99) - CableCreation USB Active Extender (16.4ft length). Works great as expected. OTHER PRODUCTS: DisplayPort (10m) ($98.99) - ATZEBE Displayport Fiber Optic Cable 30ft, Displayport 1.4 Fiber. This cable diameter is very small, but in no way inferior in performance to the 5 meter long LINKUP cable with a wider cross-section. The connectors/cable heads became hot as soon as the cable started transferring data. This can be done for thermal management; but if it's not intentional, it can become problematic. The rest of the cable works great. DisplayPort (5m) ($39.96) - [LINKUP] DisplayPort DP8K DP1.4 Cable (VESA Certified). This cable is quite thick and very well built. It worked. USB (10m) ($35.99) - cable essential Active male to female USB extension cable. This helped extend the reach of VR even without a network connection. Note that the AC adapter is NOT included, which really sucks. But thankfully, the Index worked fine without the power boost connector. This successfully extended the signal for my Valve Index headset another 10m. DP Connector (0m) ($11.99) - Cable is a 2-pack DisplayPort to DisplayPort connector. Extending the length of my index cable DOES NOT WORK.
