Let me start by saying that to legally use this GMRS radio you need a GMRS license. Obtaining a GMRS license is very easy. There are many videos online showing you how to get a GMRS license. This is a China-made GMRS radio with a limited budget. A good choice if you're looking for something to take with you and not have to worry about losing or dropping it. The radio in question is pre-programmed with 22 FRS/GMRS channels and 8 repeater channels. Which of these 30 channels use memory locations 1-30. There are 11 pre-programmed NOAA weather channels using memory locations 117-127. If you enter frequencies on the radio itself and store them in memory, you cannot transmit on them. However, there is a workaround to add your own repeaters and tones. I won't post how to do it because someone already did it in their review.
