Review on Titanium Nitride Coated Comoware Drill by Daniel Morris

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Bad and overpriced.

Like many others I bought these to have a screw extraction kit ready to use. That's one of the reasons this bit set is advertised, even says it on the tin. I bought these because they were more expensive than some other brands. However, I am not sure why they are rated so highly. The box is very beautiful, I tell you. It folds to reveal the bits and they have a handy holder. They're primarily used for extracting screws and bolts, so why are they made of black and gold high-speed steel and not cobalt? Doesn't make much sense. They're basically never used on wood or plastic, so opting for black and gold HSS doesn't make much sense. They'll probably get used a few times a bit, but I wouldn't rely on them just to withstand regular use. because of the material from which they are made. Also, it would be nice if a set of metric sizes were available, but I won't slam the product over that as metric bits are pretty rare in the US, even from online retailers. Buy them if you don't have a set, avoid them if you can find a better one. Update: I ended up sending them back and deducting a star from my rating. After careful inspection, the cutting edges of some bits were not finished to an acceptable level for the price. These beats are rubbish. They're made out of the wrong material for the application, and they're not even very well made. I could buy five sets of cheap screw extractors with matching bits for my left hand for the price I paid for them. Returning was an easy decision.
