Review on πŸ’ͺ Razer Core X eGPU: High-performance Aluminum Enclosure for Thunderbolt 3 Laptops, PCIe Support, 650W PSU by Antonio Edan

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Opt for Core X over CHROMA (but performance loss)

1TB NVME)/ROG-STRIX-RTX-2080TI-O11G. I bought the ethernet and USB version of Chroma and it doesn't light up, unfortunately the ethernet connector keeps dropping even with the drivers from the chip manufacturer's website. If you plug anything into USB, the ethernet will also break. I returned the Chroma version for the regular Core X, then the Core X too. I couldn't justify the loss in performance so I ended up building a new system with the 3900X.

Pros
  • Feels good
Cons
  • Annoying
