Opt for Core X over CHROMA (but performance loss)

1TB NVME)/ROG-STRIX-RTX-2080TI-O11G. I bought the ethernet and USB version of Chroma and it doesn't light up, unfortunately the ethernet connector keeps dropping even with the drivers from the chip manufacturer's website. If you plug anything into USB, the ethernet will also break. I returned the Chroma version for the regular Core X, then the Core X too. I couldn't justify the loss in performance so I ended up building a new system with the 3900X.

Pros
  • Feels good
Cons
  • Annoying

Great graphics acceleration for Thunderbolt 3 laptops

I actually bought this to use with a 2018 Mac mini and I'm very satisfied. I paired this case with a Radeon RX 580 and the increase in graphics and GPU processing power was amazing! Due to the external nature of the graphics enclosure, you only get about 80% of the performance from the graphics card, but that's still a huge boost over your processor's integrated graphics. It's certainly an expensive graphics option, but this case is cheaper than its rivals and can handle performance-hungry…

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Definitely a bad product

The GPU is easy to install and works without any problems

Works great with 2017 and 2018 MacBook Pro models. I've used a Radeon RX580 in a case and it runs silently (there are three fans on the GPU) with no issues.

Pros
  • Robust design
Cons
  • The list will be long.

Great eGPU for dual boot Mac mini, some build quality issues

Really plug and play, build quality could be a bit better. I installed a PowerColor Radeon Vega 64 in my Razer Core X to connect to a Mac mini 2018 dual booting OS X/Win10. My problems relate more to the build quality. The Razer Core X uses a magnetic sensor to ensure the case is closed before the power supply boots up. If your rails are shaky or the sensor at the end of the rail isn't making the best contact, think you have DOA. After a lot of swearing and trying to bend the back rail into…

Pros
  • Looking forward to
Cons
  • I don't really like it, everything is fine
