bought this to use for HDMI to secondary monitor and USB ports. Once you plug it in and leave it plugged in without much movement, you should be fine. But if you travel to work and plug it in daily, after a while the weight of the heavier HDMI cable and USB cables seems to bend the hub down, and you end up with intermittent contact in the MacBook Pro's USB ports. I wasn't thrilled that the hub uses both ports in the MacBook Pro. So if you have intermittent contact, the laptop will keep ringing while it charges and loses contact. I switched to a side hanging key hub and everything has been fine ever since. If the hub had a "pad" to support the weight of the cables, it would prevent the hub from sagging and eventually bending the USBC inputs.
