I'm a very self-made person, but I usually hang the doors with frames. I purchased two quality waterfall glass French doors to access a pre-panelled adjoining room from my MB. And I knew I'd be spending $800 if I locked the hinges. So after arguing with HD that I knew exactly what size door I needed, I looked for a hinge guide and found it. In short, I didn't mix up a single hinge, either on the door or on the body. However, please note that this kit comes with a cutter that works great. So don't go and buy another one like me. The only thing that's a little tricky is that the guides are larger than the actual cutout - to accommodate the thickness of the cutter I suppose. So if you're cutting into a curtain case, you'll need to measure fifteen times and cut once to make sure you've spaced the hinge grooves on the case exactly to match the groove spacing on the door. I had to turn 1/8" on two hinges on each door, but that was easily covered up with putty and paint.
