Buffalo winters mean salt on the roads, which means contaminants like metallic brake dust get into the paintwork and rust. I've always had dark colored cars so this paint smear never happens like it does now when I have a pearl white Ford Edge Limited. Imagine my sour stomach when I washed my car last winter and found a beautiful, shiny car full of hundreds and hundreds of little orange dots on my car. RUST! These qualities were so etched into the color that at first I thought it was my color. A few of these came off with a fingernail, but if I hadn't used a scouring pad and destroyed the paint, I would have been scraping it off for weeks. Not to mention some didn't come off in the process and my nail didn't match my polish. Eventually I was directed to this clay bar. I used it last weekend and WOW it did the job, safe and very effective. 1) Just wash and dry your car. 2) Using a clean bucket of soapy water (don't waste money on specialty lubricating sprays), reapply soapy water to small affected areas. 3) Take a clay bar and wipe it over the affected area (a small elbow). 4) Soap and rinse. 5) Dry and I suggest applying car wax as clay will remove everything including wax but will leave your paint safe and contamination free.
