UPDATE: I've been researching thin HDMI cables to find one with the thinnest head/jacket possible, bought one and switched to it. Now the flickering is completely gone. Unfortunately I had to buy a second special item to be able to use this monitor. If you want to buy it, you should buy a thin cable at the same time. I'm increasing my rating from 2 to 3 because: 1) it's not the device at fault, it's the cable 2) but the device is at fault, the cable is a problem/doesn't fit 3) the menu is still difficult to use and 4 ) on it rather difficult to see for a long period of time. It worked great when I first tried it. My computer then had to be restarted to install the software, and the next time I turned it on, it flickered like crazy - going on and off, and horizontal black bars appearing randomly across the width of the screen at various vertical positions (see ). Turned it off for dinner, came back, turned it back on - and everything's fine again. I then turned it off and back on with the remote and the flickering continued. I suspect the HDMI port is the culprit - it's insanely close to the monitor body, meaning it's cumbersome for even the thinnest of cables (see attached photo). I disabled it when I wrote this and just enabled it and had no problems. I switched the power back and everything is fine so far 🤷♀️. The worst thing is that it's unpredictable. The second worst thing is the headaches, which I will almost certainly have later. I can only hope it doesn't randomly flicker in the middle of a live stream (I bought it to use as a control panel for my OBS). Additionally, the on-screen menus are incredibly unintuitive.
