Many animal toys are designed with owners in mind, and this toy is no exception. I bought it because like everyone else I imagined my parrot pulling the chain and ringing the bell. That never happens. The parrots have probably never been to a carnival and seen us humans hit the Strong Man pool to hit the bell! The concept eludes them. Anyway, the bell isn't ringing the way we'd like it to. It just sounds like a plastic dink. At the same time, my parrot LOVES his Strong Bird toy! He plays a lot with the metal chain, but not with the blue plastic ball, but with the chain. A full length mirror and he can stand right in front of it. I'll probably never see him ring the bell, but who cares. It should be about him, not me. Mikey loves this toy so I rate it high. I'm not giving it five stars because the bell is wasted on it - it's just a selling point for us humans. I still recommend it to anyone who wants to make their little bird happy!
