I needed a DP cable at least 7 feet long. I bought this 10ft because all the other 7ft or longer options I could find were significantly more expensive (the extra 3ft I don't need doesn't really bother me). That works fine. I quickly found that I actually needed two of these cables, so I ordered and received another one, which also works great. It doesn't have connector latches that many DP cables have. It is held together only by friction. For my use (and most uses) it doesn't matter. However, keep this in mind if you think it takes more than just friction to keep the connector in your use. I normally use 2K @ 60Hz, but I tested this cable first in a non-standard higher resolution DP daisy chain to the display (so the overall signal speed I normally use is almost 3 times that) and there was no signs of problems related to the cable (signal).
