Review on πŸ”§ Makita XGC01Z 10 Oz Caulk Adhesive: Professional-Grade Sealant for Precise Bonding by Jeremy Rodriguez

What You Need to Know

Oh my god, how I wanted to believe. First, with the battery and sealant hose installed, this thing is heavy. It weighs about the same as two Makita drill presses. This makes any kind of precision work impossible or quickly becomes obsolete when working overhead. The device is front-heavy, so if you lay it down straight like a drill, it falls right onto the handpiece. There is a speed setting of 1-5, but you'll only use 1-1.25. There is no pin function on the trigger. It stinks. There is no way to reduce the amount of sealant that comes out if you get thinner or wider gaps like you would with a manual seal. When you release the trigger, the device retracts to prevent sealant from spraying. 5-10 seconds after you pull the trigger again, the sealant will come out. It's also getting pretty old. You just sit and wait an unknown amount of time for the seal to start firing. You can't use this for FINE or FINISH work like I said. It is too hard. If you seal something where the cut will be it will speed up the process. There's just no way for baseboards or trim.
