I don't like the overall design of this digital torque wrench.

Overall build quality is good; The metal components of the key are great. Plastic handle - ah. What prevented me from returning it; The crank adjuster for selecting your desired torque target is just awful. It might be a little different than what you "selected" by simply pressing the slider even after it's "locked," not to mention why they couldn't just let one Static value being placed with the arrow keys, as is the case with Cobalt or Quinn? They are MUCH easier to use than the torque regulator built into the handle; It's an interesting concept, but it should be much more concise (e.g. implement a click lock when turning the knob to provide tactile feedback to the user, and it would also avoid risking the value entered when you even just nudge the button button). Since this key costs around $100; Do yourself a favor and get a Kobalt or Quinn Digital Torque Wrench that can angularly torque past the standard torque up to the specified torque. It might cost you an extra $60-$80, but to me it's worth the extra money you're spending given the downsides of this dongle. It has potential, but definitely something I wouldn't use, especially for a motor rebuild where you rely on statically set torque values as well as angular torque.

Pros
  • Instant conversion between four different measurements (lb-ft, Nm, lb-in, kg.cm)
Cons
  • Not bad, but...
