Fantastic versatile flashlight!

I bought this through the initial release on the Olight website. It's my first larger Olight flashlight and I'm very impressed. The build quality is fantastic. There are a lot of features baked in, but it's still quite easy to use when you get the hang of it. The output range is quite useful (1, 15, 120, 800, and turbo 2500 lumen modes). I've found a use for each of the levels in the few days that I've had it. I love the shake to get the battery level indication. I've seen some who are worried about the battery drain with that feature, but I believe that I saw somewhere that the battery can handle 500,000 shakes. It's big battery (the whole light is almost all battery internally) and the indicator is a really low level LED (even lower than the moonlight mode that's 1 lumen).Keep in mind that the output is very much geared toward a flood pattern. There's barely a hot spot. So if you're looking for more of a long throw spotlight, something like the warrior series is what you want. I've found it to be great on nighttime walks. The flood pattern is perfect for that. On high or turbo, it lights up our entire back yard at once. It's smaller than what I was thinking it would be based on the photos online. I've been carrying it every day even though that wasn't the intent when I bought it. It's just too cool to leave at home. There's a good amount of weight to it and that might be an obstacle for some who would want it for an EDC light. The magnesium one saves a bit on weight, if that's important. I think it's quite perfect for an around the house general use flashlight and many would love it for an EDC.Overall, I'm very pleased and would certainly buy it again.

Pros
  • The integrated safety sensor is a thoughtful addition, making this flashlight even safer to use and offering peace of mind to those in potentially hazardous environments
Cons
  • The safety sensor may malfunction, causing the flashlight to turn off unexpectedly or fail to adjust to changing light conditions
