I got this for our Fire TV as we lost our original TV remote. When we received it I was excited to set it up because the remote we used was frustrating as it controlled more than one TV at a time. Set up seemed pretty easy until I saw the USB part which I believe goes into the TV which I don't think would be a problem as I used the TV for charging but I think our TV didn't. At that moment I knew it wasn't going to work for us. I then tried my husband's Xbox to see if I could get it to work there, but that didn't work either. So overall I couldn't get it to work for us and it was a bit disappointing given the situation it looks and feels like a quality remote but I'm not sure how anyone could get it to work for him, if you are in the same position as us.
