Nice little kit to repair your PCM, in my case a 1995 Jeep Cherokee. Code 54 told me there was no signal coming from the camshaft position sensor. Sensor replaced, voltage and ground checked, both ok, but the jeep still wouldn't start with the new sensor. So I replaced the caps with this kit. I have experience with electronics and soldering so it wasn't difficult. Unfortunately this didn't solve (or maybe help) my problem because after reinstalling PCM the jeep still wouldn't start. Let's get back to diagnosing the CAM signal. I found the wire from the sensor to pin 44 on the PCM was open. Install a jumper between the two points and the jeep will start. Hopefully with new covers my PCM will be fine for a few more years! By the way, you can get an incorrect code 11 crankshaft position sensor when troubleshooting. This code can appear if you run the engine for less than 10 seconds because the PCM was not getting enough pulses from the crankshaft position sensor.
