Review on 🚰 Robertshaw IMV708 Refrigerator Water Valve for Whirlpool, Kitchenaid, Kenmore (Original Version) by Roy Ramos

My problem was solved in Parts & Accessories

Problem: My KitchenAid refrigerator, model #KSCS25FKSS02, was intermittently dripping from the water dispenser. After using the dispenser to get a glass of water, it sometimes stopped dispensing as expected, but sometimes it dripped continuously (about 1 drop per second) from the spout, which quickly filled the drip tray and then flowed. through the door onto the floor. After a few runs in the kitchen, we persuaded the dispenser to the "off" position and stopped using it for a few months. The ice machine worked perfectly the whole time. Solution: I did some research online and concluded that the "double water inlet valve" was the culprit and ordered a water valve for a Robertshaw IMV708 W10408179 4389177 Whirlpool Kitchenaid Kenmore fridge. Searching for product compatibility did not guarantee an exact match; but the reviews and photos gave me the level of confidence I needed. The valve arrived on Saturday, a day ahead of schedule, and I couldn't wait to start replacing it on Sunday. The fridge is built into the kitchen cabinet and it was not easy to roll it out far enough to get to the back where the valve assembly is. I was relieved to find that the replacement valve assembly is compatible with electrical fittings and water lines (it uses snap-on pressure fittings instead of the original threaded fittings). The bracket is at a different angle so I drilled two small holes in the fridge frame and screwed on the new valve assembly. After 24 hours everything is fine. We now have an ice and water dispenser that is fully functional with no signs of drips or leaks.
