Review on Wix Filters Wa10271 Air Filter by Bob Candfield

I like to have air filters on hand before I need them - good because this filter doesn't fit - I don't think I'll be using it. The filter is the same size as the OEM - looks high quality - but the cap design is different - totally worse! OEM filter - with the tabs in the closed position (you twist them to lock) tight, you can't even wiggle it - you can't pull the filter out without unlocking the tabs, it's perfectly secure. You can move the filter like a loose tooth and effortlessly pull the filter back out of the housing without opening the leaves. The locking tabs do practically nothing. I've been using WIX air and oil filters for years - always the best quality - but this filter is a huge disappointment - I'm concerned that a sloppy fit/poor seal will allow air to leak around the filter and ruin everything. So WIX saved $0.10 by using a cheaper locking tab instead of an OEM design, and I'm stuck with a $19 filter that might not even do the job. It's NOT worth risking dirt getting into my fuel system. If I were you I would buy something else!
