Review on Foscam FI8918W Wireless Camera Viewing by Michael Boyce

So my dear hunting dog is pregnant and ready to give birth. I set it up in 5 days to get everything working. I monitor from work whether everything is in order on the day of delivery. Well her temperature dropped 2 degrees indicating she was in labor and guess what?! The camera turns off. I'm going home because it's about to burst and I'm going to fix the camera. The wireless equipment in the camera has completely stopped working. The Foscam software doesn't find the camera, neither does my router; It turns on and the network and power indicators are fine, but it cannot be found on the network. Tried to reset to factory settings; same result. I can't physically run a network cable to the camera (well, I think I could, but it's 50 feet from my router, through 3 doors, and into the garage, through the front door.) No time to do any of this; You have to work and take care of the dog. I can't waste time messing around with a camera whose built-in RF/WLAN card stopped working after 5 days of powering it on and activating it. By the way, I'm a computer scientist; If there was an easy fix I would find it. To move forward, I'll either have to a) rip it apart and play around with it for an hour or two, or b) throw it in the trash and tell you all about the experience. Thanks for nothing, Foscam. lost a working day because your crappy gear can't last more than a week. Not to mention the frustration when your non-working product fails at the WORST moment. NEVER BUY ANOTHER FOSCAM PRODUCT, at least if you care about seeing images from a remote controlled camera. unreal. Foscam shouldn't have any quality control.
