Review on Tripp Lite 4-Port Desktop KVM Switch with USB and VGA HD15 (Model B006-VU4-R) by Paul Stocks

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Worked for me - note this is only VGA if you want to switch videos with it.

So far so good. It appears to be a solid, well-made KVM switch. It is fully powered and constantly powers the keyboard and mouse. There are physical buttons on the front for easy switching between processors. Don't remember weird keyboard shortcuts (although apparently you can do it that way, but I've never done it). I use this to switch between my home computer and the work computer that I take home when I work from home. It's perfect for that. You connect your keyboard and monitor to the dedicated ports on the front, while the back has VGA and USB ports for four processors. Note: Only VGA is used for video switching. So I don't even use it to switch videos between my home and work computers. The VGA cable just plugs directly into my work laptop and I leave the DVI cable connected to my home PC. So I press 2 buttons instead of one - big deal. VGA, even if it doesn't go through a KVM switch, isn't as crisp as a DVI signal, so I don't lower the quality of my multimedia PC just because I sometimes have to use it for work. any KVM switch that switches digital signals - they all seem stuck in the VGA world. On that note - just use them to switch keyboard and monitor.
