Will die in about a year

Still using this KVM switch as of this writing. One of the console's two USB ports dies - I used to have a keyboard there, but it's a mouse now, so it's a lot less frustrating. The replacement is coming this week. I bought this KVM to power the laptop's video port. What does he do. It shifts properly and does a good job overall. A dying USB connector is probably a quality control issue, not a design issue, and it's been around for a long time. It took some work to understand this. At first I…

Warning: video connection required, cannot easily switch keyboard/mouse

This device was not working in my configuration - 3 computers, one Linux, one PC/Vista, one Mac. PC 5 years old, the rest is new. I have a Logitech wireless keyboard and mouse. I just want to switch keyboard and mouse, no video. This device only switches VGA video and I only use HDMI channels to connect to a 4K monitor. However, a video channel MUST be set for each computer used. Keyboard/mouse will NOT switch alone (with part of VGA cable disconnected). I haven't seen this limitation anywhere…

Great value for money, only one thing I don't like.

I've been using expensive ATEN 8 and 16 port KVM switches for years and when I needed a 4 port KVM switch I found one that wasn't ATEN but was clearly impractical. switched off or possibly made by the same OEM. I received it and there were problems so I sent it back. I was hesitant to try this one because it cost less than $90 (excluding the computer cable) and didn't look very pretty. But I needed something fast, and I liked the fact that although the cables had to be ordered separately, this…

  • Ugly packaging

So far so good. It appears to be a solid, well-made KVM switch. It is fully powered and constantly powers the keyboard and mouse. There are physical buttons on the front for easy switching between processors. Don't remember weird keyboard shortcuts (although apparently you can do it that way, but I've never done it). I use this to switch between my home computer and the work computer that I take home when I work from home. It's perfect for that. You connect your keyboard and monitor to the…

Very good KVM for computer components

Short story If you want a great 4 port KVM, buy this one as it's small and very solidly built. On the plus side, if you want it to work with a wireless keyboard and mouse, order IOGEAR's wireless keyboard and mouse combo (model GKM552R). Long story I had an IOGEAR 4 port KVM switch that I really liked because it had physical switches to choose a computer from. and scan (hotkeys are hard to remember) and it just worked great. The bonus was that it worked great with my HP Elite wireless keyboard…

I can work with it

In general the device is good. However, it didn't work very well with my wireless keyboard. The wireless mouse worked fine, so I used a 4-in/1-out USB hub for the keyboard and mouse transceivers and plugged the hub into the input (console) port on the mouse. Now I had both a mouse and a keyboard that fit all of my systems. However, now I have no hotkey activity and can only control the toggle from the front panel. As the title says, I can work with it. At least the video switching seems nice…
