The smell is not as strong as I thought in some reviews. It's not a bad smell, it's very similar to new tires. One issue that was significant to my application was that the sheet is anything but square. So if you need to use the entire sheet, or want to use most of its area to cut out smaller square pieces, you need to take that into account. And this is more than insignificant, it is immediately noticeable to the naked eye. Again, if you want a full square sheet, it's useless.
