Good quality and practical size

Made in France, these Canson art books are really very good. The paper has a smooth texture suitable for most materials and this particular book is thick enough for watercolor and most pencils. Canson has another mixed media book with a rougher texture that I don't want for a graphite pencil. They also have a special watercolor book which I also find too crude for a pencil. Both my sons and I use them regularly for everyday drawing from life. The 7" x 10" size is perfect for carrying. If it were larger, like 9" x 12", the corners would most likely get hit. Often a smaller size would just be handy, and often I only use a half, third, or quarter page (or fit two or three drawings on a page) but a larger page is useful when the subject or technique calls for it. I think they should be compared to Strathmore's. Although I've used Strathmore, I use it no longer regularly (for no particular reason) so I can't make that comparison I doubt there's a noticeable difference, at least for general purpose books of this type -Pencils, Micron pens, Lamy fountain pens, some Prismacolor, Winsor pencils & Newton Aquarelle or similar With only 60 sheets giving you the capacity for thick e leaves up, and you may not want this if you ever only use a pencil, or if you use leaves a lot. I use (office waste) disposable draft paper so it can take months to fill these books with mostly high quality materials. I can use 100 page sketchbooks with thinner paper if I fill them up too quickly, but I don't.
