Handy Fine Thread Countersunk Screw Set

I don't have an automatic armor tool for countersunk holes. But I've heard a lot of good things about it and may buy it in the future. These countersunk screws are color coded to match the thickness and depth settings on this jig. But of course they can be used in combination with any pocket hole attachment or even for pocket holeless applications. The color coating also provides some corrosion resistance, according to the manufacturer. I'm an experienced carpenter but have only recently started using pocket hole joints for specific applications. Most of the time I prefer other types of connections, but there are definitely blind hole applications that fit. The problem is that I never had a countersunk screw of the right size on hand. This set changes all that. These are all fine threads commonly used for hardwoods like oak and maple. Oddly enough, the largest size (orange) is chunky yarn. I think they assume you will never use pocket holes in a 1.5" hardwood stock. Strange. In any case, this is a good selection of commonly used pocket hole sizes. But I also use them for general woodworking and DIY applications. The set also includes a #2 long square shank bit that clips into the organizer case. This is a really nice addition. The screws appear to be well made. They are identical and quite durable. They bite into the wood immediately and hold together very well. The organizer is the best I've seen in these sets. Pieces will not pop out of slots even if carried vertically or dropped/shaken. The clasps are really secure but very easy to open. both convenient and inexpensive. The price seems a bit high for this item, but it will save you many trips to a big store if you buy small quantities. More importantly, it's also about half the price of pocket-hole- OEM brand screw kits, so definitely a better alternative for those using popular branded equipment.
