Update: After only a few months of use the silver finish is beginning to wear away revealing a creamy white plastic. It's a shame, because these things looked good when they were first installed. I just hang light t-shirts and basketball shorts over them so they don't wear out too much. Yes, on one of them I wear jeans for a day or two - I was impressed that they hold up - but that's not the norm. Mostly light stuff but they are on the door so I think the clothes wiggle when the door is opened/closed and that removes the paneling. Too bad. I was expecting something more durable from 3M. I hang my heavy jeans on these hooks at the back of the door so that they can hold up under load and last for over a month. Using other Command products I have found that the post installation cure time is VERY important and 24 hours (as stated on the packaging) may not be enough if you are installing on a gloss painted surface. I had them treat for 48 hours with no stress and they did a great job. They really do look like polished nickel even though they are plastic.
