This stuff is just right!

So, we have been working on redesigning our kitchen slowly over the years. One major remodel we did was to add a large island. Well, we weren't entirely ready to spend big bucks on nice countertops until everything else was finished being moved around, so we put some temporary particle board tops on. As is the way of things sometimes, these temporary countertops have actually been on the island for about 4 years now! 😬 That is a long time for particle board to be in contact with water, pets, and everything else countertops deal with. I finally decided to order this to provide protection and a decent appearance. I couldn't be more happy! They look nice enough that we have actually gotten compliments from friends that are thinking of doing the same in their space. But here's the thing that I appreciate the most. This last Christmas we were cooking a ham that needed glazed before it was finished. My husband, while I was in a different room, took the super hot pan of meat out of the oven and set it DIRECTLY on the countertop! When I walked in and saw that I freaked out "YOU CAN'T DO THAT YOU'LL MELT THE COUNTERTOP COVER!" Lo and behold, nothing was damaged. Yeah it actually took the direct heat of a pan that had just been pulled from the oven and did just fine. It does need refreshed now do to being abused for a few years but I'm definitely okay with using this for the next few years on our "temporary" countertops.
