It cuts best in blades

It actually cuts. But put on leather gloves and hold onto both hands. It's not a mess. You get a nasty wound. It would "boil". I have knees from tree roots in my yard and I'm tired of dull chainsaws cutting roots to get rid of my knees. This allowed me to shave them flush without digging up the root. The first chain dulled over time, but not as quickly, and the chainsaw chain cut off the dirt. I wouldn't sculpt but I bet it would be great for that too.
