USB 3.0 speeds on USB to VGA adapters

All I wanted was a USB 3.0 USB and card reader. The ones I looked at had a high rate of port or reader slot failures. And readers could only read at a speed of 2.5. So since I was using a Kingston Mobilelite G4 SD card reader, I decided to buy this 3.0 port box, put it in an external case and add the Kingston Mobilelite G4 SD card reader to read and write at true 3.0 speeds use. The device is connected to my laptop with a 1.6 foot 3.0A USB cable. The power cord is not required for operation as I use the device for data transfer and not for charging.
