I give 5 stars for the shampoo and 1 star for the conditioner, so an average of 3 stars. I haven't been an avid swimmer since I was a kid. Growing up with blonde hair, I knew all too well what pool water did to my hair. I remember using swim shampoo as a kid, but as I got older and for most of my adult life, I didn't really go in the pool or swim. Mostly I just sunbathed and read books. Entering the water was infrequent and usually long enough to cool off. I had kind of forgotten that my hair was going to turn green. Until my friend bought a house with a pool. and we live in los angeles where almost every day is pool day and since my girlfriend lives 3 minutes away from me i spend a lot of time in her pool. And since it's a private pool, we've all become little kids again. Swim, splash, jump. This is funny. But lo and behold, my hair started to turn green again. And now I'm dying them red so with a greenish tinge in part of my hair I'm starting to look like an ugly Christmas decoration. So I was desperate for a non-damaging shampoo and conditioner combo that would restore my hair to a soft, silky blonde color (so I could then dye it red again without making it worse). I found this combination and ordered it immediately. I used the shampoo as soon as it arrived and then read the conditioner bottle while letting the shampoo sit on my head for a second to really take the green out. The air conditioning is NOT a special air conditioning system. It's just air conditioning. It's not even a good conditioner. My VO5 stuff is better than this conditioner. I tried it for the first time and after rinsing my hair felt stickier than before the conditioner. This damaged the stickiness of the hair. No stickiness of the product. Oh, the air conditioner went in the trash. I still shampoo every few days and use my regular conditioner and my hair is like new. Luckily buying ONLY the shampoo is an option and I will do that next time.
