Review on ANCEL BA101 Professional Automotive Motorcycle by Ken Coste

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I wish I could give it a higher rating but this is a test.

I would like to give it a higher rating but the test results are confusing. A new battery is installed and the quick test shows a different result than the car battery test. The same test items, CCA rating, charge percentage, battery condition, internal resistance, etc. are listed BUT the numbers shown are different. A quick test shows 96% charge, but "battery in car" shows 71%? Both tests were performed 3 minutes apart. So what is it, 96 or 71? Same goes for ohms and CCA values which are different, not much but different. I would believe 96 as the battery is new and fully charged. My dealer charges a new battery and then runs a diagnostic test on their $3,000 Industrial Snap-On Battery Test Station before sending you on your way. My old battery didn't give a warning before it gave up the ghost in the mall parking lot so I bought this tool. Monitoring of 3 car batteries in the family. An annual test will give me "numbers" that show me the battery is slowly heading towards recycling, and I could schedule a smooth replacement instead of calling my brother for a "jump". Like the concept of these conductivity testers, but the varying results make me doubt their accuracy. If I can't trust the results of a test, what's the use of a tester?
