Review on Sealed Power 224 4143 Oil Pump by Aavon Dark

I installed this pump on a fresh engine rebuild. The engine was at 65psi when I first started it. When I finished retracting the cam, it was only holding 35psi. After about an hour of work, almost nothing worked at idle. It was enough to stop the knocking, but not enough to move the needle on the gauge. I removed the motor and removed the pump. The inside of the pump was riddled with scratches where the gears hit the walls and cut into the pump's bottom plate. You could see a pattern on the teeth where the gears don't mesh properly. I've never had a problem with Sealed Power products in the past, but I will never buy anything else after this one. The oil pump is not easy to replace when it fails, save yourself the hassle and buy a good quality pump.
