Very disappointed Good for tools and equipment

Very disappointed with this gauge. I bought this to check the battery life of my trolling motor. My trolling motor is on the nose and my chop is on the back. I connected this meter to the main leads coming from the battery and it reads 10% but if you connect it directly to the battery it reads 50%. But when I connected my battery to the charger, it shows 90%. So what I'm saying is that I can't trust that if it's giving other readings.
