I agree with other reviewers that this lamp is designed to be lowered nicely so it works with a variety of decorations. I also agree that it is very easy to install as it weighs next to nothing compared to other styles of lighting. Where I disagree is the brightness. It was much darker than I expected. I was replacing a 20 year old 4 tube fluorescent light in a very small office with a high (3m) ceiling. This gives about half the light of the previous fixture. That's what I would call "barely appropriate" for office lighting. Maybe removing the diffuser will improve the brightness, but then you get a very harsh, directional light and an ugly chandelier. Good price but I had to get something lighter or buy two.
