Had to downgrade

Not bad. BUT. This product is not pre-cut so it can be easily installed into standard ceiling boxes. This is a big disadvantage. And it's tricky to drill yourself because the circular pattern of the LED strip makes it difficult to punch holes with the right spacing. So okay. But the pre-punched holes make it a five star device. UPDATE: After 14 months of 24 hour use this light has started turning on and off about every 30 seconds. Another brand with the same use has no problem. No explanation…

Not as bright as it should be

I agree with other reviewers that this lamp is designed to be lowered nicely so it works with a variety of decorations. I also agree that it is very easy to install as it weighs next to nothing compared to other styles of lighting. Where I disagree is the brightness. It was much darker than I expected. I was replacing a 20 year old 4 tube fluorescent light in a very small office with a high (3m) ceiling. This gives about half the light of the previous fixture. That's what I would call "barely…

The brightness is enough for the stairs, before closing, check the wire connections in the quick connector.

Bright light, the small LED chips are actually blindingly bright, so don't turn on the light without the diffuser cover. I agree with others, it looks very light despite the cheap plastic. We use it to light up the stairs. The only annoyance was that I had to take it off again because a cable came loose from the quick connector and unfortunately it's in a hard-to-reach place for me. Quick and easy, suitable for lighting SMALL spaces.

I don't think it's bright enough to light up the whole room but it worked great for my small entryway. The first block I ordered didn't work even after I stripped the wires even further (the contact portions of the wire are incredibly short). It also looked like the ground wire had been disconnected from the inside of the unit. I sent it back and received a second unit which worked great even without stripping. Nice looks but seems very light, overall good with some caveats.

In general I am satisfied with the purchase, with some limitations. Firstly, the product feels very light and feels almost weightless. Wiring color coding does not apply to the US as it is: Brown = 120VAC (US Black/Hot), Blue = (US White/Neutral), and Yellow = (US Green/Ground). Also, there is no standard US size hole pattern for mounting this unit to a standard US ceiling/wall junction box.
