I ordered these mainly for the sign as the spare dough hook is just nice to have. The shield has small raised areas on the outside of the bowl to keep it in place, and the plastic-free rim of the bowl lines up with the blender's pivot pin. Not sure how this compares to the KitchenAid version, but it works well. The hook is very similar to the OEM version that came with the blender. At less than $18, it's a much better deal than the KitchenAid version and still holds the flour in the bowl better than before. I give it four stars because it serves its purpose and that's what KitchenAid should have included in the original packaging. If you give someone a KitchenAide 4.5q mixer, you should give them one of these too. As always, your mileage and preferences may vary.
