Review on πŸ”ͺ KitchenAid Gourmet 4-Sided Stainless Steel Box Grater with Removable Storage Container, 10-inch Height, Sleek Black by Jennifer Lyon

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Bigger and stronger than your mother's grater. The trash can is a very handy feature.

That's about 25% more than the grater I grew up on by any measure. It might not seem like such a big deal, but it makes cleaning the inside a lot easier. Additionally, the stainless steel is polished on the inside so food scraps slide off both the outside and inside with minimal effort. The catch basket is a really nice feature. I didn't think I would use it often but after trying it I use it every time even if I don't plan on storing shredded food in the bin. It's just really nice to have ALL the grates in one handy container. And if you have any leftovers, you can simply close the lid and store in the fridge. The container also fits perfectly in the bottom of the grater so it doesn't take up space when stored. Overall, the construction makes a very solid impression. The sides and handle are made of stainless steel, which is thick enough to withstand repeated use. The only plastic is the top and the protrusion around the bottom edge, and the plastic is solid. A plastic hem around the bottom is also a nice touch. It offers a little more grip when you place it on a plate, counter or cutting board, which provides more stability when rubbing something hard that requires strength. Very happy with it.

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for seniors
