It may not look like the pictures, but the size of this thing is huge! It is about twice the size of a standard grater. It is not good. The container is completely useless because some of what you grate will fall out of the grater (it always happens). The quality is excellent. Continuous. But the size is a big disadvantage.

So we ordered this grater expecting it to be smaller. When it arrived it was a lot bigger than we thought. Don't worry, we quickly learned that sometimes more is better. We mainly use it for shredding cheese, and the included small container allows you to shred straight into the container to avoid a mess. In addition, the color matches our other kitchenware and decor.

When I ordered this product I thought it would be much smaller. But since I'm not used to money in the kitchen, I wanted to be happy with this Mini. But it arrived today and I literally squealed with joy! This is a phenomenal quality product and quite large! The storage/collection bin is great. This is a durable plastic with size markings. Required to order! I have already ordered the matching scoops. 😍

This is by far the sharpest chopper we have. Kitchen Aid excels in quality in everything they do. That said, I'm giving it four stars because even though it's a box type shredder with a bin underneath, only about half of what you shred makes it into the box shredder and bin. The other half is on the outside. Use a large bowl to place this chopper so your chopped veggies are conveniently in one place and easier to scoop.

I had the same black grater and it took about 10 years before the plastic part next to the handle broke. When I decided to replace my cheese grater I saw many cheaper alternatives but I wanted one that would last at least another 10 years. That's about 25% more than the grater I grew up on by any measure. It might not seem like such a big deal, but it makes cleaning the inside a lot easier. Additionally, the stainless steel is polished on the inside so food scraps slide off both the outside and inside with minimal effort. The catch basket is a really nice feature. I bought this as a grater but was hoping that the tiniest of holes could be used to grate things like lemons etc. Anyway, I tried it for the FIRST time last night and it worked, but not that well. The shell seemed to come off in shell-sized pieces, but all the pieces were left in a metal grater, making it impossible to get them out.
