Review on ๐Ÿ’ฏ High-Quality TYC Alternator for 2011-2013 Toyota Corolla - Hassle-Free Compatibility! by Hayden Hart

Reliable TYC generator!

I wanted an alternator for my girlfriend's 2011 Corolla because her alternator broke. The price was competitive with AutoZone and required no subscription. Easy to install, lots of tutorials online or youtube. Mechanical tensioner. To put the belt back on, I learned a trick from an experienced mechanic. Simply test the belt's ability to flex exactly 90ยฐ at the maximum distance between two pulleys. On this Corolla these are the crankshaft pulley and the alternator pulley. If you twist the belt and cannot pull it 90ยฐ, it is too tight. If you twist the belt and it rotates 90ยฐ, it is too loose. Simply tighten or loosen incrementally before tightening the turnbuckle (12mm) on the bracket. Both screws holding the bracket in place are torqued to 14 ft-lbs. The last bolt to be tightened after the tensioner bolt is the main alternator bolt. This is at 26 foot pounds. It will be difficult to hand tighten the bolt on the new alternator threads so do this with a ratchet or 14mm ratchet wrench.
