Conflict between indoor and outdoor information

In their ad they say IP65, an outdoor rating, and they say waterproof, a specification not found in consumer electronics. As far as I remember (from memory), the manual that came with it says the unit will fail outdoors. Yes, it becomes unstable. Place this device looking directly through a wall or garage window and it will detect movement from outside (Very close range. In clear winds). or no rain outside or inside, it works very well
