If you are purchasing these ferrules then you are probably making welding wire, patch cords or other types of wire that require a ferrule. They are about the size of a wire. I bought a #2 Class M welding cable to replace my current ground wire on my MIG. I needed a lip on each end. These eyelets almost fit. With a little ingenuity I was able to widen the end of the cable to match the ends of the cable as copper is a soft metal that can be worked. Part of the problem was probably because I was using class M, not class K, cable. Class M has thinner strands than Class K and a slightly larger diameter. They will work, but you may need to use a punch to widen the end slightly to insert the cable. The reason I'm only giving 3 stars is because one of the cable lugs was a noticeably smaller diameter that would fit the cable nicely. Wire #4. I could still work and expand the metal to fit, but I didn't have to. I see this as a quality control issue and don't see the same issue with the item that was hanging at my local welding supplies store. Otherwise they do their job.
