Review on Global G 9 G 9 8 3 Bread Stainless by Jenny Cordero

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Best bread knife period

I have several bread/slicing knives: Henckels 8" bread knife, Wüsthof 10.25" slicer, 3 versions of Victorinox serrated knives and Global bread knife. All great knives and no one can complain about any of them. I mostly use 20-year-old Henckels for cheese, the rest for bread. I always use a Victorinox knife for tomatoes. As a bread knife, Global easily wins by a very large margin. It also looks fabulous. His teeth are too rough for tomatoes and hard cheese. If you're willing to spend more than $100, go global and consider getting a Victorinox tomato knife, maybe a 7-inch scalloped edge chef's knife. If you're looking to save money, just the Victorinox will do, but then you can get a 10-inch slicer or an offset bread knife. Think about what other silly things you're spending $$$ on, a great knife or two will probably be the best use of your hard-earned cash and you'll be beaming with happiness almost forever.
