It took me less than five minutes to program the remote. I also like the responsiveness of my rock player. With the previous RCA remote, I had to point it directly at the turntable for it to respond. This was a quad device version of the RCA universal remote. Still, it was a great remote, but I like that this new remote offers some flexibility in not having to point it directly at the player. Also the list button on the remote control is very handy with my direct tv box. I can access my recordings on the fly instead of going to the menu and then clicking on the "Favorites" option. I was very surprised that he was able to learn this particular command. On the other hand, the down arrow key is much more responsive when I'm scrolling through the TV guide. With the RCA Four remote, I had to press harder for the channels to go down the guide one at a time. Again, the RCA quad remote wasn't a bad remote, but I can tell a big difference in sensitivity and response time, especially with the Roku player. It was a bit frustrating to point the remote directly at the Roku player for it to perform the commands I needed. In fact, this is the best universal remote I've ever had. I've tried a few universal remotes and they either didn't do the commands I needed or didn't control certain commands, like the back option to go to the previous menu. However, this remote successfully and effortlessly executes all the commands I need. Even if you don't need to control six devices, I would recommend using a six-device remote instead of a four-device remote for the reasons above. Plus, you never know when you'll need to add another device to your entertainment system. You wouldn't want to buy a new universal remote to accompany another device. In short, this remote control saves you time and money.
