Review on 🐾 BISSELL MultiClean Allergen Lift-Off Pet Vacuum - HEPA Filter Sealed System, Model 2998 by Kiesha Cepparulo

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Fairly complete overview

I just bought this vacuum and cleaned most of the carpet in my house this weekend. Here's my take: I bought this model purely based on reviews of the Revain. I've actually been very impressed with the Shark vacuums I've used at friends' houses, but while the Shark reviews were generally good, they tended to be a few percentage points less positive than the Bissell reviews. Additionally, when I look at the one star reviews for Shark vacuums, many people complain about the extremely poor customer service. I simply will not support a company that does not support their products. To be honest, I later spoke to a friend who recently had a good customer support story from Shark. However, the high number of complaints about poor customer service in the reviews should give cause for concern. After eliminating the Shark from my intended models, I started looking at the Bissell because they seemed to have one of the lowest percentages of negative reviews across the board. . A lot of the negative reviews are due to threads and hair clogging the brush roll. Judging by the reviews, this model did not have such problems. So far I haven't had any problems with this vacuum cleaner. Other negative reviews of this model mention that it is heavy and clumsy to use. I have to say that when I'm over 50, I have a completely different view of the heavy and bulky. I remember the clunky vacuum cleaners of yesteryear, and compared to what I'm used to, this model is a real sports car - light, maneuverable and relatively easy to get into hard-to-reach places. Perhaps compared to a cordless vacuum cleaner or some very light sharks, it can be seen as a bit bulky. Some people have complained that it's difficult to slide over shaggy or high-pile carpets. My carpet has a low pile so I didn't have this problem, except on a low pile carpet where the high suction required little effort to push the cleaner through while trying to hold the carpet with one foot. .The suction power of this vacuum cleaner seemed to be very good. Some people claim that the suction power isn't as good as the Shark or Dyson. To be honest I can't say that based on my limited experience with other vacuums. This vacuum seems to have the same suction power as any other vacuum I can remember using, I just can't make an exact comparison. Some people complain about difficulties using different hose tools. The hose is a bit short but I really don't want it hanging around the vacuum when I'm using it as a stand so it's like what you live with. Using hose tools can cause it to tip over, but the lift feature that allows you to separate the canister from the base of the carpet roll makes this little to no problem for me. What I really like about this Bissell is the smart design. Everything seems well thought out for efficiency and ease of use. I'm not sure how well all the plastic parts will hold up, but most vacuums seem to be made out of lightweight plastic parts, so I'm just hoping for the best. The time will show. The cable appears thin and stiff. I know they make more flexible cables but they are more expensive. However, I think Bissell should have used a thicker, more flexible cable for this device. The only thing I really find fault with is the small size of the container. I ended up resetting it four or five times over the course of two or three hours, but my carpet was pretty dirty. It was easy to throw away without inhaling a lot of dust. In the end, this vacuum did a great job on my old, low-pile carpet and did a decent job on a couple of tiled patches as well. The upholstery/stair brush attachment also worked quite well. I am happy with my purchase so far. My main concern is whether it will last for years (especially the plastic parts). Definitely deduct stars if it doesn't work out in the first few years. If he's still going strong in five years, I'll do it. give it an unqualified five-star rating.
