For use with 2003 VW NEW Beetle 1.8T and 0W-40 synthetic oil. After taking the bug several times to one of those companies that quickly and easily "blindly" smear confusing things, error codes and i$$ue$ crap, I decided to do it myself. So I'm currently using the full Mobile 1 synths and matched them to the Mobile 1 filter and everything looked fine, but then I tested a few others before sticking with K&N. With the Turbo, the short/standard filters seemed inadequate. Some filters actually had issues with the quality of the element inside, and some just didn't handle the pressure properly. K&N. No worry about oil pressure failure, no sign of defects, no sign of trouble changing oil. With the 1" hex cap, it's easy to attach, making it easy to remove later. No signs of element problems due to over-pressure on post-disassembly inspection. For an extra $2-3, you don't have to worry about paying. for the engine 3000r.
