I was a bit reluctant to buy one of these as it lacks the foam pre-filter found on "exact replacement" filters but the Price was second to none. After installing it, I noticed that my car responded much better to the accelerator pedal. Better performance and slight increase in fuel consumption. While a foam pre-filter is highly recommended for wet and snowy weather, this filter should be fine for the warm/dry months of the year. The recommendation is to change the air filter every 10,000 to 12,000 miles. My original filter had the paper folds clean, but the foam pre-filter was quite dirty. mileage. I checked the filter and found it to be quite dirty. Thankfully they're cheap, but not cheap enough to change every 5,000 miles. I'll buy another one for the rest of the summer/early fall but will switch to better quality filters from now on.
