This is a great product idea with Litter Genie. This greatly simplifies the cleaning of the tray. Manufacturer Litter Genie states that the plastic is 7-ply, while plastic grocery bags are 2-ply. I don't notice any bad smells on me and with just one cat it lasts at least 2 months. I haven't, but others have attached one of those baking soda air fresheners to the inside of the lid. If she just "pressed one, dropped a two and did #2" while cleaning the tray. You know what I mean (ugh, it stinks lol), I'll wash it off the same way (it doesn't look like clumps of urine, which is a lot of crap. It just sticks to it a bit, so I guess it's not safe is to wash it off . please use your own opinion). Overall a great purchase.
