Review on πŸ“Š Enhanced Siglent SDS1104X Oscilloscope: Standard Channels for Precise Measurements by Ken Hamdan

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Excellent, best electrical test ever

Siglent SDS1104X-E 100MHz I've only had this scope for a day but so far it's easy to use, no problems so far. I've only used it for simple monitoring of low speed PWM signals in the 100Hz to 5kHz range. I was interested in the screen size. The actual screen size used is about 177mm. (154mm wide x 87mm high) I mainly used the TDS2024. It has dedicated vertical position controls for each channel, which isn't present here, but that's not a problem. I love the dedicated channel on/off buttons on the 1104. I've also used some of the better Rigols. It never seemed right to trigger them when looking for intermittent spikes. Seems like it often didn't work when it should (TDS worked fine). I haven't tested much with the 1104 trigger, but it works great for these slow signals. I like the dedicated Auto, Normal, and Single Trigger buttons. The fan is a little louder than I remember on TDS, but I'm in a very quiet room right now. I don't think I would notice that in a typical office or lab. The wind from the fan is not felt, which is good. It's not like some power supplies I've had that sound like an airplane and you can point it at your lab roommate to really piss them off :). The probes seem to fit, although one of my four has the tip staying in the hat when I take my hat off.

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Doubtful
