Review on High-Definition Touchscreen Raspberry ROADOM: Responsive & Compatible 10.1" Display with Built-In Speakers by Larry Fulcher

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Basically all I expected was to bring my own HDMI!

I didn't buy it to use my Raspberry Pi but to view chats and streams on a screen that doesn't take up much space. Very happy with the results here! When I opened the box I was very surprised at how well everything was packed! Despite being cheap, it unpacks nicely and comes with lots of screws, cables and connectors and even a mini screwdriver so you can put it together worry-free! There's even a power outlet, unlike a new cell phone. Set up was very easy but I had to use one of my own micro USB because only 1 was long enough but it's made for a Raspberry Pi so can't get too excited. The screws are very easy on the feet, makes a fairly stable impression. I definitely wish it had some kind of protective backing / I could buy it with a protective backing! I also had to use my own HDMI as the cable that came with it is an HDMI to mini HDMI cable, but the screen and my computer use regular HDMI. Not sure why it comes with them as there are also ways to connect a monitor directly to the raspberry pi. Just be prepared to have your own cables, that's all I'm talking about. I figured since this was for a Raspberry Pi I would have to do it. Once set up, turning it on is easy and it turns on faster than my main monitor. It worked out of the box with Windows 10, no drivers required, I was able to use the touchscreen after setting it up in the control panel, but it doesn't seem to be pixel perfect, some things just don't work a bit, but the scrolling, play and pause work good, although I may not have calibrated it perfectly. The screen looks ok, not very bright even on the brightest settings and the screen reflects a lot but for the price I wasn't expecting anything better and to be honest I was prepared for the worst, the colors look good enough and they are 60Hz. For less than $90, it's worth just watching the stream while playing a game on my PC.
