I cut the underside of my palm before using any of these but when I saw the price tag on this along with the video provided. I thought it would be much easier to use. Unfortunately it isn't. The vine on this thing is jagged, so it doesn't cut very well. Vegetables get stuck in it halfway. To change the thickness you need to pull out and twist the blade. It wasn't as easy as it should have been. I literally almost cut myself doing it. It was quite difficult to pull the blade out and put it back in. I somehow managed to scrape my knuckles on the blade. But since the blade is serrated, it just stabbed my wrist instead of slicing through flesh. I guess I'll have to invest in an automatic mandolin to get what I'm really looking for. I received this item in exchange for a discount. for my honest feedback
